Hi there, guys and dolls! How’s your week going? I know, they do happen fast, don’t they? Already time for raves n faves Thursday. This week I have some great movies for you with a stunner of a movie star, Gene Tierney. Such an intriguing gal all on her own, she was captivating to watch and her social circle (married to Oleg Cassini, friends with Howard Hughes, just to name drop a little) was its own work of art.
Now she was in many fantabulous films, but here are some of yours truly’s absolute faves. Just click on the poster or the title to be taken to the trailers. Get your popcorn and Goobers ready!
LAURA – Such a classic film noir! Based on a book by Vera Caspary. Twists and turns galore, with disappearances and mystery swirling around the lovely Miss Tierney. Throw in Vincent Price and Dana Andrews and you’ve got yourself a great movie.
LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN – Yowza, talk about high drama! Based on the novel by Ben Ames Williams. This movie about obsession will stay with you forever. Not only does it have a compelling story (just what will she do next) will give you the chills, the cast (again, that fine Vincent Price along with Clifton Webb and Jeanne Crain) makes it a real humdinger!
THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR – Now for a little lighter fare. From the story by R. A. Dick (her real name was Josephine Leslie). Set in 1900, this otherworldly romantic fantasy has it all. Romantic interlopers, manly men, a laugh or two – what more could a gal want?
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more posts. And don’t forget to give my Poppy Cove Mysteries a try if you haven’t already.

There was a TV show of the third one. Was it based on her book?

Hi Authoress51 :-)! Thanks for asking. Yes, the TV series was also based on the book. It ran for two seasons from 1968 to 1970, starring Hope Lange. It certainly was a fun show!
